This version of our Long Play Disc Controller answers a request from some Intellivision fans. Consequently, this model is limited to 25 units.
Specially designed to be held horizontally like "modern" controllers, it's also lightweight and modular. In fact, you can swap its disc for a D-pad or mini joystick.
What's more, we've included a version for left-handers, with the disc on the right.
This controller is compatible with all Intellivision + Sear Video Arcade models, but requires an adapter for models 1 and 3, available here : Adapter
Using this controller does not prevent you from keeping your original controllers.
-The controller is compatible with Intellivision 2 and Sear Video Arcade.
-You can use it with Intellivision 1 and 3 with an adapter.
-This controller requires no soldering. Simply open your Intellivision with a screwdriver to place the joystick receptacle.
-The joystick is held horizontally.
-It is 3D printed.
-The controller is delivered with a D-pad, but you can replace it with a disk, which is supplied.
-The controller comes in a box with instructions and the usual making-of feature.
-The size is roughly that of a hand, for a light but effective grip.
-The controller supports overlays. The overlay does not slip, but is held in place by a support.
-The top button(s) is the bottom one. The other 2 are on the left and right, as on the original controller.
-With the disc in place you'll have all 16 directions, with the DPad in place you're limited to 8 directions.
The controller uses micro-switches, not mylar (to be technical: 12 switches are used for the disc but there are also diodes involved to bring 2 signals to GND for each switch. This acts like the original mylar without the need for DPDT switches, DPDT switches were used in early designs / prototypes).
-The size and shape are the same as those of the Intellivision I controllers. The original design had the outgoing wire in the same position as INTV 1 too, which made it possible to put them in the original location. We moved the cable due to feedback from our initial video and tester comments.
-Each controller comes with a "Dual Action" extension. You need to remove the dongle shown in the photo and plug in a cable that also connects to the console's second port.
-A high-quality 400-gram cardboard drawer box.
-Bilingual English-French, 60-page booklet in 10X15 format, 100% full color, printed on high-quality 130-gram paper. Includes a making-of feature.
-D-pad (with directional cross) + circle + joystick
