Tiny Magic premium version

NOTE :

After the successful release of MSX2 puzzle game Tiny Magic on the MSX GOTO40 event in December 2023, Abyss have updated the game with some improvements and bug fixes based on feedback from players. The main goal was to balance the difficulty better and to improve playability and accessibility.

Here are the changes in Tiny Magic version 1.1:

• The first island, the school garden, has been improved to teach all the different moves and explain the concepts better. Some puzzles here have been simplified, others made a bit more complex. It also has been expanded with 5 more puzzles to ramp up the level and get you ready for the next island. Overall this will give you a smoother onboarding.
• You now have 15 Undo steps instead of 7, and you can also undo Pyramid moves and trap doors.
• For multi-screen puzzles you can now choose if you want to restart the entire level or just the current screen.
• Overall level order has been adjusted and some puzzles changed in their difficulty to give a smoother experience with the difficulty level.
• In total there are 8 more puzzles (of which 3 are hidden easter eggs, try to find them!)

This update is free for all existing buyers and instructions will be provided as soon as the new version is available. It's also possible to update the physical cartridges for interested people. You can do this yourself with some soldering and desoldering of jumpers.

The game runs on MSX2 or higher with at least 128 kB RAM and 128 kB VRAM.

The music in the game requires MSX Music (FM-PAC).




STORYLINE

It is the year 1890. In our modern world, magic and mages are waning.

At Mahoutokoro Magic School a student is chosen for the final Master Mage exam.

This year young water mage Thiharis will be tested for his magic skills and intellect.

His teacher Alcina guides our hero to Ogaisuma Island for the final test.

Can you beat Alcina's trials and become the new master water mage?

Please note that this reissue is a premium version. Dimensions are slightly different from our previous boxes and the cardboard is thicker.

The set consists of a printed sleeve inside which is a transparent plastic box with its own lid.

The cardboard of the sleeve is thicker than on our previous boxes.

The plastic box is lined with foam protectors.

-A high quality 36 pages manual including 10 pages in English. The size changes from 15 x 10 to 12 x 18 cm.

-A double-sided mini poster with, on one side, the illustration used for the front of the box, including the title, and on the other, the same illustration without the title. You'll be able to display your box with style in your gaming room.
